because it's a snow day...

and i always buy summer shoes and or bathers on snow days.

let's pretend this is not a desperate, painful, passive-aggro whinge. let's pretend i need summer shoes. say yes.

so these...

or these...

or neither, for that matter.

i would very much appreciate your opinion. and i kind of hope you tell me to buy the first pair. also, what do you know about wooden wedges? i have the same shoes from yoox with a corkier wedge and they are amazingly comfy and they make my legs look skinny. always a bonus when shoes double as magicians.

my apologies for mucking up your day with silly issues. you know how i am when i'm chilled. xoxo.

oh, the first ones...for sure. that solid wedge is hot.

i wish the ankle strap on the first pair were as sexy as the ankle strap on the second pair, because otherwise i like the first pair just-oh-so-much-more. and if it makes you feel better, i've been buying mini skirts made out of things like tulle and draped silk. i obviously am pretending i'm not wearing two pairs of socks under my boots (at least they're cowboy boots so have *some* flair) and a really ugly wool sweater that i'm trying to doll up (unsuccessfully) with a pretty scarf. winter winter, go away. come again when i've gone to live someplace warmer.

ooooooh, love them both but can with complete confidence sign off on the first pair. i have a pair of wooden wedges that look amazing but feel a bit teeter-y. as in uneven pavement becomes an obstacle course...but that just means that you develop catlike reflexes to near tumbles!

I think *both* is a very nice option.

Hands down the first pair - they look a gazillion times hotter! And I love all the different textures =)

MALLORY! ENABLER!

and thanks carla...

also, you guys know i broke my ankle apart when i was newly pregnant with esme? it still has metal in it. would these be an insane and dangerous purchase?!

just thought of that...

I like the first ones.

I had a similar pair 10 or so years ago. they make you tall and skinny...but are a little deadly if you're a klutz like me.

would not recommend if you are trying sneak up on the girlies as they're a bit "clompy"

good for short trips but not walking the State Fair or 2 hr mall walks ;)

#2 for sure...yes they are hot and will look smokin' on you, but also, I believe shoes should have some little 'bridge' on their soles just because you never know what little creature's life might be saved as they skadaddle to and fro.

{yes, certified crazy nature loon, but I'm sorry, it's just me and I think of all these weird things while towering high above the little world of happenings below my feet}

aesthetically, the first pair is definitely the hotness. however, wooden wedges are positively jarring to walk in... I'd not risk it, with metal in my ankle. but they are super pretty to look at, aren't they?

I dig #2...the straps just look a little more sleek, less leather-bound. But then again, the point of wooden platforms is probably not sleekness.

i say buy both and keep the pair you like best. ( :

i'm considering the first pair in camel, but i dunno, my feet are a bit wide (the better to dance with, my dear) and these look a tad narrow, so my feet might lap over the edge... hm. good luck! you'll be a sassafras regardless of the pair you choose.

you should buy both because i can't wear anything higher than -5" so i need to live vicariously through your dangerous shoe adventures. but i kinda wish the strappy part from the bottom pair were on top of the wedge of the first pair. whatever. they're both hot.
