a soft spot...

i've been trying to run twice a day for the past two or three days. no reason for it, really, unless you count the two new shortie short skirts i just bought from j. crew or my j brand skinnies.

if you're counting along at home, that would be three wonderful reasons.

last night, after my quickie evening run and shower, i was slathering on lotion and chatting with uncle sugar. i am a multi-tasker like that.

have i ever told you how insane i am about lotion? i love soft skin so much, it's almost a sickness. from bliss to clarins to jergens to neutrogena and philosphy and straight back to bliss, i'm obsessed.

but last night, i decided to use uncle sugar's stuff. and - no surprise - that boy has good stuff.

do you always use my lotion? he asked, clearly annoyed.

never. only when you're sitting here watching me. i tried to smile my most charming, most moisturized smile.

he nodded like he believed me. then he narrowed his eyes and frowned and inspected how much i'd used and how much remained in the bottle and i don't think he believed me anymore. what can i tell you? i can't be trusted when it comes to kiehl's.

tell me i'm not alone. tell me you're a moisture and fragrance freak, too, will you? desktops from inside out.

pond's dry skin cream en masse. in the tub container. i smell like three generations of women. the whole thing makes me just melt away. (and also, sadly, maybe some exceptionally expensive 'get rid of your cellulite' cream that appears to maybe kind of but not really work but i keep pretending it does while forking over a tenth of my paycheck to sephora for it.) i wish they'd just print "fixes those wobbly bits you hate" on the pond's tubs. just lie to me. i'm okay with it.
i will be bringing my ponds with me on the subway on friday on my way to my noon o'clock JOB INTERVIEW everybody cross fingers toes and pantyhose because this job is way outta my league. but i'd be awesome at it anyway. and don't you think someone should tack on 'deputy communications director' to my name already? we can finally do something productive with all the letters that follow it. b.a., m.a., m.s., m.pa., ph.d. "something other than secretary."
anyway, my ponds will come with me. because i'm crazy about still smelling like me when i get off the rot tube/subway so hopefully they will like both me and my ponds. : )

Lotion freak? YES.
Fragrance lotion? Nope! It always gives me a headache...!

My favorite moisturizing secret? I use baby oil in the shower. :)

I single handedly keep Clarins in business. I'm more obsessed with my face skin vs. my body though - not sure why.

Moisturizer is NO JOKE!!

i am most certainly addicted to lotion. my mom slathered johnson & johnson on me throughout my childhood. then i took over and never stopped...i adore that pink lotion.

i have always said that if i was stranded on a deserted island, my greatest loss would be lotion. palmer's cocoa butter. i started using it when i lived in hawaii and just came back to it and my skin sort of breathed a sigh of relief, as though i was missing far too long.
my man, however, NEVER uses lotion. EVER. it sort of freaks me out.
