when i was a little, i'm told that after every bath i'd find my dad and order him to 'mell me. funny. esmé does the same thing.
i'm right back there again. uncle sugar bought me a new perfume. jasmine musk by one of the hottest boys in the land...a one mister tom ford.
it's a total dirty floral.
i know. every time i smell me, i fall a little in love.
do you have a scent that makes you fall in love with you? do tell...

esmé ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
lucky lucky.
I wear the original Donna Karen scent. (looks like a duck or something- black and gold bottle) and then I still love Angel lotion. LOVE.
I can't wait to see you and smell you. roar!
i'm a big fan of my narciso rodriguez...but this is looking pretty darn tempting.
that tom ford...oh my.
this IS a dirty, 1970's, don't tell me your name, let's just dance and see where the night takes us kind of fragrance. i love this parfum (as the bottle reads). i can just imagine this heads you turn as you waft passed.
i'm such a seasonal girl with my scents: 'if' in the summer, 'l'eclat darpage come autumn, 'floret' with the spring flowers. coincidentally, i'm working on a post searching for a fresh, new winter aroma? any suggestions?
xo, katie
p.s. loved the "straightening my bowtie" t.ruffle!!!
i've always loved egpytian musk. i discovered it at a renaissance faire (yes, i am a geek) when i was in high school. i bought a little vial of it and just adored how subtle it was. people often smelled it as i was walking out of a room. a boy i had a crush on once asked what that amazing smell was when i was in the car with him. i was so enchanted (by the boy and the scent). sadly, it slipped away sometime in the past. i wonder if i could find it again...without making the trip back to upstate new york.
Go to scents...
Seductive love, Coco Chanel.
Happy let's be friends love, Chance Chanel. Pretty boring but I love the way they make me smell!
I'm channeling Karey Mackin today! I just wrote about the perfume Ben Blair gave me for Christmas: Bond No. 9 - Eau de New York. I love it. (And him.)
ooh.....this sounds delicious. Yum....I do LOVE perfume, love it. Right now, I wear Jo Malone's
Jasmine & honey blossom(it is SO divine and yummy, plus my hubby loves it) :) I used to wear Annick Goutal's Folavril for awhile and that is also so yummy. I sure wish I could 'mell ya! :)
xoxo

I rock in old school in Fendi. It's hard to find, but my hubby did and I can't quite imagine wearing anything else. It's become synonymous with who I am. Yikes.
Sorry for my drunken grammar in the last comment. You always make my day, Karey.
Can I send you a galley of my new book, DEAR STRANGERS? I'd love for you to read it.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you a copy ASAP.
Thanks!

i have a hard time finding scents that i really like (most make me sneeze or sniffle) but have found 3 (all in the past 3 years) that i ADORE. i'm drawn to dark, musky (as you said 'dirty') scents that are slightly exotic. no light florals or grassy scents for me!
1. christian dior - hypnotic poison. my all time fave...although when i google it its called an 80s scent...whatever that means lol.
2. tom ford black orchid - soo amazing
3. dolce & gabbana the one - love.
i'll definitely be trying this jasmine musk though...tom ford is pretty no fail in the perfume category i've found...
i am not a perfume wearer. although there is some oil i found that makes me swoon. and i believe philosophy makes a scent that smells like clean laundry. that makes my heart swell.
however, you had me at dirty. i'm willing to brave a department store and get spritzed by someone who hates their life.
Paul Smith Rose makes me very happy when the days are long and my limbs are bare. But hello? Dirty floral? *makes beeline to perfume counter*
I'm still searching for my perfect dirty floral scent....but the past few years, I've been hooked on Carla Fracci (a perfect combo of lily and tuberose).
Oh, I need to smell this ASAP.
I wear Origins Ginger Intense.
Zoe says "every time I smell it, I think of your beauty" so of course, I will wear it until forever.
Mmmmmm.... Hermes' 24, Rue du Fabourg.
Everytime I spritz it on, I want to take a bite. It's just that delicious. {sigh} And really, shouldn't you be the one who loves your parfum scent the absolute most? Yes, I think so too.
Well, now i must go out and smell that musk!!
I love that about perfume. I feel the same way when I get a new shampoo and conditioner and I can smell my hair the first few weeks of using it. Mmm. I'm smelling my hair now. ;)
My fave perfume all the time for about 15 years now is Burberry Classic. Its gorgeous. The next one would be Beautiful by Este Lauder, awesome!

I'm terribly sensitive to perfumes, so I have to stick with lotions and my favorite scent changes with my mood and season. I am generally drawn to sweet or fruity though because flowers send me into sneezing fits (odd, since I'm not particularly pollen sensitive with real flowers).
Flower Bomb, Viktor and Rolf, it's hot...a total dirty floral, as you so aptly put it. Now I want to try yours.
Oh, that sounds right up my alley! I'm not really a perfume wearer but I should be because I have such a sense of smell, it's crazy. I can be in a restaurant, have a waitress walk by, and smell my best friend's perfume from 9th grade (Samsara).
I love Chanel #5 though. It smells like my mom's bathrobe, which I always put on when I stay at her house.
I loved reading about everybody's scents. I tend to like single note perfumes. I wore Tea Rose (smells just like its name) for years. Now I am still on the hunt for the perfect scent for me. I remember that when I was in Jr. High, everyone loved Love's Baby Soft. You know, I still think that's a perfect smell.
